The Gorillas shot a disappointing 3-21 from behind the arc, along with senior DePrice Taylor ending her career at Pitt State with a three-point performance.
Although the Gorillas lost the game, they received a great performance from senior Nicole McCombs, who had yet another double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Maya Onikute also capped off her career with an astounding 18-point night. Northwest's Abby Henry led all scorers with 25 points, while Pitt State was led by Laura Glenn, who ended the game with 19 in the final game of her junior year.
The Gorillas kept up with the Bearcats during the second half, as they made a few attempts at a comeback late in the game, but were only able to cut the deficit to six before Northwest got hot again.
But, with about seven minutes left in the game, Pitt was able to make a decent attempt at regaining the lead as they went on a 10-2 scoring run to make the score 65-62.
Following the timeout, Laura Glenn and Shelley Martin of Northwest traded a couple of three pointers, followed by a layup by Onikute with only seconds left in regulation.
Northwest's Henry put the final dagger in the Gorillas' season with a couple of free throws to make the final score 75-71.
The Gorillas ended the season with an even 14-14 overall record, and a promising 12-8 mark in conference play.
