Basic Leadership Training conference

The Basic Leadership Training (BLT) conference, sponsored by Presidential Emerging Leaders Program, will be held Saturday, Jan. 30. Fire extinguisher training

PSU faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the upcoming fire extinguisher training at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, on the east side of Carnie Smith Stadium. For more information, call 235-4774.

Leadership talk

Lt. Col. Mark Johnson will speak about leadership, team building and motivation at 7 p.m. tonight in the Balkans Room at the Overman Student Center. The presentation is designed to obtain the confidence and knowledge that is needed to find success as a leader. The event is sponsored by the Kansas Association of Family and Consumer Sciences - Leaders For Tomorrow. For more information, send an e-mail to celliot@pittstate.edu.

Toy drive

The Tau Sigma Honor Society is holding a toy drive now through Friday, Dec. 11. Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the Admissions Office. Gifts can be for children up to 18 years of age. After the collection, toys will become part of the KOAM-TV Toy Box campaign and will be distributed through the Salvation Army.
 
G.I. Bill

The Department of Veterans Affairs has made financial funds available for veteran students who are sill waiting for their education benefits to be processed, with up to a $3,000 advance. Student veterans can request a one-time payment at their local VA regional office or through the VA website www.va.gov.

International Education Week

International Programs and Services will be featuring activities this week including an instrumental performance that will begin at 12:15 p.m. today in the U-Club.  On Friday, International Programs and Services will feature traditional Indian dances starting at noon in the U-Club.
