Q. So, Brett, why do you love PSU football?
A. We have so much support here. Everybody really supports us and really gets into it with us and that makes it a lot of fun and we're pretty good.
Q. What is your funniest or most memorable moment at PSU?
A. My freshman year in the dorms we had a snowstorm that was ridiculous. Nobody could drive in the streets anywhere. So for three hours we ran out to the Oval and had the biggest snowball fight ever.
Q. Do you get nervous before a game? How do you get over that?
A. I think you kind of get over your nervousness after some time. When I first started playing and I first started coming out in front of all the people, I would be pretty nervous. I think you always still get nervous, you always kind of get the butterflies in your stomach, but I think that you get more confident with your playing ability and with your team and it starts to separate nervousness and turns more into just excitement and really having fun out there.
Q. Have you had any bad experiences at PSU?
A. I try not to dwell on bad experiences. But I'd have to say not making the playoffs the last two years would kind of be it.
Q. Have you ever been hurt during a game?
A. I missed a whole season, two seasons ago, I broke my ankle in practice and I had to miss the whole season. I had to take a medical red shirt.
Q. Was it hard for you?
A. I guess at the time it was hard but it gave me this extra season to play and we're having a really good year, so it turned out to be all right.
Q. Do you love the game? Why?
A. I do. I think that anyone who loves to do a physical sport, it (football) is by far the most physical team sport, where it obviously takes more than just one person to play well. You have to have all 11 people doing the right thing on every play. I just feel like it's the ultimate team sport. I love the whole team support aspect. It takes everybody's effort and that's what makes it so much fun.
Q. Have you had any experiences that made you want to quit?
A. There were times when I was younger, when I started playing here, when I walked on here to play football, so I wasn't recruited, really, to play. So there were times when I thought maybe that I wouldn't get the chance to ever really play or get a chance to start. When it gets a little hard, I wouldn't really say that I ever wanted to quit, but I think those hard times just makes you work a little harder.
