The Pitt State softball team split wins in a double header against Truman last Saturday, dropping the first game 2-5, but coming back for a win in the second game 8-5.

The team faced Central Missouri the following day, April 20, where they dropped both games, 1-2 in the first game and 3-4 in the second.

"We played well," said head coach Brad Horky. "We were just unable to come out with a win."

The team traveled to Hays on April 23 to face Fort Hays in a conference match-up. Fort Hays went into the game with 30-22 overall standings, 7-9 MIAA and seventh in conference standings.

Pittsburg walked in with 7-6 MIAA and 19-24 overall, and fifth in conference.

"We are just looking for some wins," said Horky. "I think one more win can get us into the post season."

PSU won both games of the double header 7-3 and 5-3, bringing the conference record to 9-6.
Pitt State will face both Southwest Baptist and Emporia State this weekend at home. As of April 23, Southwest held 13-23 overall and 3-10 MIAA records, while Emporia held on to first place in conference with 33-14 overall and 12-2 MIAA.
"They will be a couple of tough games," said Horky.

Pitt State will kick off the weekend against Southwest Baptist at 3 p.m. Friday, April 25, and Emporia State at noon Saturday. Saturday's game will serve as a Senior Day.
