Music students perform in classic opera scenes
A collaborative ensemble of a conductor, a piano accompanist and more than 10 singers, took to the McCray Recital Hall stage Friday and Saturday night to perform scenes from 10 operas. The night's performance, "An Evening of Lyric Music Theatre: A Tribute to the Musicals of Stephen Sondheim," featured an operetta, a lighter and shorter opera from Jacques Offenbach, "Bluebeard;" and operas from Mozart, "Le Nozze di Figaro" and "Don Giovanni.… Post the First Comment

Indian Diwali festival to brighten Pittsburg

The Indian Festival of Lights, devoted to color, candy and family unity, returns to Pittsburg at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Parrot Bey, 408 N. Theater dept. dissects 'corpse' of the play

The PSU Theater Department just finished its production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which was held Thursday, Oct. 22, to Saturday, Oct. 24. The cast, directors and designers held a postmortem on Thursday, Oct. 29. The term, which is Latin for "after death," refers to the end of the play and a review to make future productions run more smoothly.… Post the First Comment
