Missouri Sen. Jack Goodman (R-Mt. Vernon) took time out of his spring break to speak to the Missouri Southern College Republicans.

Goodman is running for the Missouri 7th Congressional District seat, currently held by Roy Blunt (R-Springfield).

After introducing himself, Goodman assessed the current situation of the United States and the importance of political involvement.

Finally, it seems, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is paying attention to Missouri Southern.

For months Nixon sat by idly as seats on the University's Board of Governors expired or became vacant. Other vacancies and expired seats around the state were filled promptly, while we waited for action.

The Feb. 19 and 20 Board of Governors retreat was described by some Board members as the most positive meeting in recent memory. And the highlight, according to many in attendance, was an hour-long presentation on the international mission by Drs.

Early Thursday morning, March 4, 19-year-old Tyler Baker of Lee's Summit, Mo., was taken to the Crawford County jail on a charge of firing a gun on the porch of Nation Hall.

Police say Baker was under the influence of alcohol when he was arrested. He was booked on charges of possession of a weapon on state property, unlawful discharge of a weapon, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and being a minor in possession of alcohol.
