In recent years, there have been a lot of efforts to increase the Drury presence on Commercial Street.

Drury SIFE has done great work to try and further the economic development of this part of town by organizing events on C-Street as well as forming partnerships with businesses to provide discounts and incentives for students to visit.

Credit cards have become a primary tool for financing everyday expenses such as a trip to the grocery store or paying off the utility bill.

The following is a conscious reworking of Peggy McIntosh's "The Invisible Knapsack." Though McIntosh's was intended to show the way that race is hidden in everyday interactions, this list has been created by the Drury Chapter of the American Association of University Women in honor of International Women's Day, March 8, 2010 with the intention of shedding light on instances of everyday, or common attitudes regarding gender.
